My name is Ms. Dawn.  I grew up in Delaware and return each summer. I miss the beach but love the mountains of Utah.  I have 3 adult children ages 26, 24, and 21 along with 2 daughter in-laws.  They are the highlight of my life and there is nothing I’d rather do than spend time with them.  I also have a tuxedo cat named Josephine and a tortoise shell cat named Athena. 

I received a Bachelor Degree in K-6 Elementary Education (double minor in Special Education and History) and a Masters Degree in School Leadership from Wilmington University in New Castle, DE. It has been my pleasure to work with the Utah State Board of Education in Digital Teaching and Learning and with the STEM Action Center of UT providing professional development for teachers.  

I have been teaching children for 13 years in Utah and 5 years in DE.  I’ve taught from first grade to eighth grade and loved every grade! The classroom is my happy place!   I am thrilled to be at Ascent Academy and look forward to a memorable year!
